A-line dress befits all figures
‘Universal' means that is accepted world wide and remains constant forever. Like earth is oval shaped, this is known to everyone and cannot be changed ever. Similarly fashion world also comprises such fashion facts. There are few dress styles that are in vogue since earlier times and will always remain so. Little black dress, A-line dress, wrap dress etc are few of them. In this article we will exclusively talk about A-line dress only.
Silhouette of A-line dress style is represented as a tapered top flaring towards the bottom and just looks like capital alphabet ‘A'. Generally this style sits high on the waist so as to flare out over the thighs. It is a very appealing style and fit appropriately with each season. Since the time of its inception it has created great stir in the minds of women. This style dress flatters all figures. Its various styles help in befitting it to all. It include halter A-line dress, strapless A-line dress, thin strap A-line dress, wrap style A-line dress, high low hem A-line dress, off the shoulder A-line dress, beaded A-line dress, one shoulder A-line dress, empire waist A-line dress, handkerchief hem A-line dress, layered A-line dress etc. Amongst such a great variety it's sure that everyone will get one piece of own choice. If still don't get any go for designer A-line dress. Certainly all these styles befit one or the other figure for sure.
But every silhouette is created keeping any one particular figure in mind. Same is the case with A-line dress also. It is especially made for women having bottom heavy figure. Flare of A-line dresses nicely fall over the thick hips and thighs and smooth out the lines of bottom part by disguising them. Also the fitted top gathers attention upward, away from the bottom part. This style is perfectly complementary to full figured women.
A-line style is not only universal with regards to body types but with fabrics also. That means almost any fabric can be used in the making of A-line dresses. If seen from comparison viewpoint then definitely lighter fabrics rock most as they nicely drape at the bottom while drape with heavy fabrics depends on their weight. Cotton, silk, and synthetics are lightweight, thus very floaty. For sundresses of summer season they work best. While somewhat heavier fabrics like velvet, taffeta etc are appropriate for more formal occasions. While A-line dresses made of heavy wool, satin are apt for cooler weather.
These dresses range from simple to ornamented ones and can be adorned with various accents. Embroidery, rhinestones, ribbons, laces, sashes, buttons, prints etc are commonly seen on A-line dresses. Adorned dresses look very beguiling. Though whether A-line dress is simple or embellished, this feminine style is all time hit.
