Ideas on how to look professional and classy?
I have a scholarship conference in D.C. in a few weeks and I have some idea of what I want to wear. I need a little help matching what I want. The conference is business professionals (Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, General Tommy Franks, etc) and I want to look nice, but not like a grandma. The conference is three days long. Here is what I am thinking about.
Day One: High-waisted black pencil skirt with a red blouse. The skirt has a thick belt at the top. I'd pair that with a classic pair of red heels.
Day Two: Grey dress pants, black heels, black blouse, and a black suit jacket.
Day Three: Black and white printed kimono style dress and black heels.
I also have a blue dress with a thick belt at the waist. It has no sleeves, but I have a cut-off sweater to go over it. If you would please provide input into my wardrobe choices, I would very much appreciate that.
The conference is in D.C. in April.
Depending how hot it is, you could probably forgo the suit jacket on day two, other than that I think your choices sound really good! Fashionable, yet professional. It's a hard balance to strike (especially when you're young.)
