Maternity Photos?
I'm 26 weeks pregnant and am starting to show quite a bit. We want to get some maternity photos taken of me, my b/f and our 3 year old daughter. But we want some fully clothed. None showing my belly, LOL. I don't mind wearing a tight shirt, but don't want a bare belly. Does anybody have any ideas on what colors would look best for us and our 3 y/o to wear? Any idea on poses? We don't have a lot of money to spend on this, so we are going to OlanMills. Sometimes they are pretty creative, and sometimes NOT. So I want to go in with some ideas to give them 
Also, what is the best time to get this done? 8 months? Or should I wait later? Or sooner? We are thinking....blue jeans, white shirts & our daughter with a white dress & blue headband. She has very long dark hair, so I think the white would look beautiful with her. Any other ideas? We can do costume changes
It would be fine to get them done now, but I think they actually look better done a little further along. Of course, you could do them now and later!
White is great, One popular approach is for you to wear a man's button down white shirt. Many mother's opt to unbutton the bottom and let the belly pooch through, but you don't have to do that. If you're not going to do the bare belly, I would do a few with a tight fitting stretchy tank or tee shirt to show your rounded form.
Olan Mills will probably not do a very good job with maternity photos, they will more likely be a family portrait in which you happen to be pregnant. I would suggest asking around and web surfing to find a local photographer who does environmental portraits. Around here, a simple location maternity shoot, with images on CD, wouldn't be much more expensive than going to OM. (I'm talking $50 to $200, depending on who does them and what kind of package offered.) I'll bet there are advanced amateur, beginning wedding photogs, or semi-pros in your area who do that, too. Ask at your local photo labs, they should know who the weekend warriors are. Best wishes to you and family!
